MS. Y.A.N.A. stands for
Multiple Sclerosis: You Are Not
Alone. We want everyone who is afflicted with this illness to
know that there is an organization to meet their needs. There are
over 400,00 people affected with MS. This number, while it has
continue to rise over the past five years, it does not include the
number of African-Americans who are considered. Add to this,
that MS is one of the least funded and least recognized
community diseases for African-Americans; next to cancer,
hypertension/high blood pressure awareness, and diabetes.
There are several programs and services that MS. Y.A.N.A.
would like to implement in order to increase awareness of
African-Americans and young adults within our community.
